Support of Protection of Employee Bill
One Galway went to Seanad to support Paul Gavan's "Protection of the Employee Tip Bill"
After a power of campaigning by ONE Galway and the Galway hospitality group in support of Paul Gavans “Protection of the Employee Tip Bill”, it passed through the Seanad this evening with huge cross party support and is now on it's journey to the Dail.
Tonight is a huge success for Trade Unions, Students Unions, community groups and most importantly the hospitality workers who are one step close to having full legal protection of their hard earned tips.
A huge thanks Paul Gavan for pushing forward this Bill and important to recognise the power of work put this by Trevor Clochartaigh to get it up and running.
Thanks to all who filled the Seanad gallery this evening- ONE Galway activists, ONE Cork activists, Students Unions, SIPTU Sector Organiser Ed Kenny, Sinn Fein and Labour activists all of which make a positive change for ordinary workers..
It’s for the Dail next and we are primed and ready to go.
