Certificate in Trade Union Studies

Applicants invited for the Certificate in Trade Union Studies Course-Commencing in September 2016 in Cork.

The Certificate in Trade Union Studies Course is a QQI Level 6 course and the QQI Certificate is awarded on completion of the course.

This course in particularly suited to activists who want to take their studies in Trade Unions, including the area of employment legislation, to a higher level.  

This programme is open to staff members and members/activists of Trade Unions affiliated to ICTU.

This is a modular programme that is delivered in SIPTU Office, Connolly Hall, Lapps Quay, Cork City on Thursday evenings from 6 – 9pm.   There are six modules to be concluded, which can be achieved over a two-year period.

Thereafter successful students are eligible to progress to the Honours Degree in Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management in the National College of Ireland (NCI), to the Diploma in Business Studies and to the Honours Bachelor in Business Studies in University College Dublin (UCD).

There will be a cost of approximately €200 per module, assuming a minimum of fifteen applicants for the programme.   

We are endeavouring to keep the cost to participants to the minimum. Applicants should check with their Trade Union for possible subsidies for this course.
