Living to work or working to live? An open discussion on workers rights in 2016

On Thursday 25th August 2016, ONE Cork ran the first in a series of ‘State of the Nation’ events. The event was open to all and posed the question – are we working to live or living to work?

Dr Tom O Connor, Economics and Public Policy Lecturer from CIT joined us to kick off the talk. What followed was an impressive discussion ranging from economics to workers right to perceived student apathy. The event was aimed at those between the age of 18 and 35, and everyone was welcome regardless of union membership status. You can catch up on what was said over on Twitter at #sotn #onecork

Given the success of the event, we will be running a second State of the Nation Event in October. More details will be posted on here on the website shortly.
